In The Colors is a story of personal transformation: A journey from the shadows to finding new love, with time, patience, and friendship guiding the way. This record was written and recorded just moments before our world held its collective breath, and these songs tell a story dotted with painful lessons, reluctant hopefulness, and surrender.
This record serves the soil from which grew Echo Magic, my production team and record label. A common language of music alchemized with a bit of good timing has branched into a canopy of friendships, collaboration, family, community, and creative encouragement. The making of In The Colors was a haven from both past and future; industry and politics. An insular and vivid moment in time.
Produced and recorded in Ojai, CA by Daniel Wright and Syd Sidney, this album features ethereal keys and synths by Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco), punchy horn sections from Karl Hunter and Andy Rowley (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy), pedal steel by Jesse Siebenberg (Supertramp, Lucas Nelson, Lissie), vocals by Marty, and was recorded and mixed by Scott Hirsch (Hiss Golden Messenger).

In a year and time where life was slowed so suddenly and dramatically, with ample time to explore, and a common worldwide confinement in place, the process of creation was for once unhindered by movement.
Largely performed live and acoustic at home, in the tender post-midnight hours of an unseasonably warm, windy night, See You Soon is a 4-song, 15 minute musical meditation on longing, shared awakening, darkness, hope, and the worthy pursuit of love.
Impossible Human (2017)
Impossible Human is the story of a soul, one seeking any kind of comfort in the inherent discomfort of loss. Richly orchestrated arrangements and lush beds of harmonies throughout.
The full length album was produced by Syd Sidney in Ojai, CA. Featuring Joshua Willing on guitars (Moses Sumney, Pangolin), Lee Pardini on bass and keys (Dawes, Chris Stapleton), and Sidney on drums.

From 2013 to 2018 I was in a band called Grizfolk. The band was signed to Virgin Records and we toured A LOT stateside and internationally. These are a few of the songs and records I helped co-write.
